Life isn’t about winning or losing!
A few days back I had seen this dialogue in a drama and it kind of really stuck in my head cause it kind of resonates with my beliefs. And the dialogue goes something like this “Life isn’t a game where it is just about winning or losing. Life is all about living!!”. I kind of liked this quote.
Don’t we all live our lives in a way as it is some sort of race? As if you are supposed to win at everything in life. And if you “fail or lose” as in society standards, then you don’t deserve the respect or admiration of people of the so-called society. Why don’t we just let people be the way they are? Who are we to judge someone’s life based on our standards? Why do we make everything about winning or losing? And what is this game all about?
If you have fame, money, and respect from society, then you won. And if you somehow don’t manage to get any of these things, then you are a loser? Isn’t that how we judge people based on our own definitions and belief system? I am sure that when we reach the end of our lives, we wouldn’t be bothered about what we accumulated during our lifetime, that would be the least of our concerns. The questions that might arise during this time would be whether we were happy about the life that we had lived, the choices we made and did we even help at least a single person.
Life would be a burden if you look at it from the perspective of winning or losing. And life isn’t supposed to feel like a burden. Rather we should be grateful for the lives that we are blessed with. When we come out of this whole perspective of the racing game, we touch something profound in ourselves, where life feels like a blessing, a celebration, a journey towards becoming better humans by learning the necessary lessons.
Life is indeed about living while being in the present moment, rather than worrying about the future or regretting the past. Not bothering ourselves with comparison. Remember everyone’s journey is different and we should refrain from judging other people’s choices!!!
